About
Hello! I'm Heike, I have a background in film design and I recently completed a Master's Degree in Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art.
Drawing in sketchbooks the weird and wonderful facets of everyday life, has been a strong impulse for my work, which includes picturebooks, non-fiction children's books, illustration for chapter books but also free work.
I experiment with printing techniques such as lithography, screenprint and risography and customise my approach to each project.
I am passionate about dance and draw inspiration from poetry, film, delving into past and distant worlds, raiding flea markets, toy and junk shops.
I live in London with my two children, their imaginary guinea pig and chicken.
